First Symptoms of Pregnancy
Pregnancy can be a wondrous and exciting time. Looking forward to the first
symptoms of pregnancy can turn into a nail biting experience. You might have
already purchased home pregnancy test kits ready to go, just in case.
But there are ways you can get a "hint" that you might be pregnant before
you open that kit.
The first symptoms of pregnancy may vary between individuals but one most
often noted is the missing of a period. If you've been keeping track of your
periods and if you're usually quite regular, then missing your period may be
the first symptom you are aware of. If you're irregular, then this may not
be as good an indicator.
When the embryo implants itself into the wall of the uterus which usually
occurs sometime after the first week after the egg is fertilized, a woman
may have some "spotting". In this situation, this may be indeed the very
first symptom of pregnancy and along with it there may be a bit of cramping
or discomfort as well. Now, this doesn't happen often but is worthy of
noting.
Then of course comes one of the more frequent first symptoms of pregnancy
and that's nausea. When we're ill and become nauseated, the nausea usually
clears up reasonable quickly, but with morning sickness (a misnomer as it
can happen any time of the day), it hangs around a bit and is harder to
settle.
So if you haven't noticed whether or not you've missed a period or you think
you're just late, then certainly if you have nausea that doesn't seem to go
away, try to remember when you had your last period.
Now might be a good time to try that home pregnancy kit.
The first symptom of pregnancy might be tiredness, fatigue, or perhaps you
noticed your breasts are tender and the nipples appear darker. You might be
experiencing mood swings, thanks to all the wonderful hormones flowing
through your bloodstream.
You know...being a woman is a pretty wonderful thing and we're pretty
special. Ever heard of "woman's intuition?" Well, sometimes you just might
have a "special feeling", or sense if "knowing" and those feeling might just
be your first symptoms of pregnancy.
If these symptoms of pregnancy are happening: now would be a good time to
give that home pregnancy kit a go, if you haven't done so already.
But, ultimately, you should always consult your doctor to be sure that your
first symptoms of pregnancy were right on the money! Take care of yourself
and stay on top of your health with good nutrition and exercise. You might
have been willing to slack off a bit with just yourself but now you have a
beautiful baby to think about.
Embrace your first symptoms of pregnancy and every experience that goes with
it!
